The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan has been scheduled for October 6 as part of the updated fixtures for the Women’s T20 World Cup, announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday.

The tournament, which is set to commence on October 3, has been relocated from Bangladesh to the UAE due to security concerns raised by players amidst ongoing political unrest.

The revised tournament will take place across two venues: Dubai and Sharjah, hosting a total of 23 matches. The decision to move the event from Bangladesh was made to ensure the safety and security of the participating teams and officials.

India's match against Pakistan is expected to be one of the tournament's most-watched games, underscoring the fierce rivalry between the two teams.

The competition will feature two groups: Group A, consisting of Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, and Group B, which includes South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland.

Each team will play four group-stage matches, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals are scheduled for October 17 and 18, with the final set to be played in Dubai on October 20. A reserve day is planned for both the semi-finals and the final to accommodate any unforeseen delays.

The tournament will kick off with ten warm-up matches from September 28 to October 1, providing teams an opportunity to prepare before the official start. Notable fixtures include Australia facing Sri Lanka on October 5, and India going up against New Zealand on October 4.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will see teams like Sri Lanka and Scotland, who qualified through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, making their presence felt on this global stage.
