Indian para-athletes continued the medal-winning run as Navdeep Singh won gold in men's javelin throw F41 after his silver was upgraded due to the disqualification of the Iranian thrower Sadegh Sayah Beit.

This is India's first-ever gold medal in the men's javelin F41 category.

In a dramatic Javelin final, Navdeep started with a foul throw but came up with a throw of 46.39m in his second attempt, propelling him to second place.

In his third throw, Navdeep stunned the crowd as he broke the Paralympic record with a monstrous throw of 47.32m and also took the lead.

Iranian thrower Sadegh bettered the Indian's mark and clinched the gold with a record-breaking effort of 47.64m in his fifth attempt.

However, after the final attempt of all the throwers, the Iranian was disqualified for two yellow cards and Navdeep saw his silver getting upgraded to gold medal.

This is the seventh gold medal for India overall and the third gold medal in the Para-Athletics at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
