Indian para-athletes had an amazing last 15 days, bagging a total of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympic Games, securing their best-ever finish in the medal table in the 18th position.

The 84-member Indian contingent gave plenty of historic moments in these 15 days, being it a first-ever gold medal in para-archery or the first-ever medal in para-judo discipline.

India achieved an impressive five double podium finishes at the Paris Paralympics, the most in any edition, marking a historic moment for the Games.

Here is the list of double podiums for India at the Paralympics 2024:

Dharambir-Pranav Soorma (Gold-silver - Para-athletics)

India achieved their first-ever top 2 finish in para-athletics as Dharambir and Pranav Soorma won gold and silver medals in the men's club throw F51 category, respectively.

This was only the second time India had a top-2 finish in the history of the games across sports after Manish Narwal and Singhraj Adhana Tokyo's gold-silver finish in the mixed 50 m pistol SH1 category.

This was also India's first-ever medal in the club throw event of the Paralympics.

Avani Lekhara-Mona Agarwal (Gold-Bronze - para-shooting)

Indian female shooters Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal created history by achieving India's first-ever female double podium finish.

Avani also becomes the first Indian to defend her title by clinching a second consecutive gold medal at the Paralympics in the women's 10m air rifle category.

On the other hand, it was a maiden Paralympic medal for Mona, who won a bronze medal on her debut at the Games in the same category.

Sharad Kumar-Mariyappan Thangavelu (Silver-Bronze - Para-athletics)

One of the most dominating categories for India at the Paralympic Games is the men's high jump T42/63 category.

In Paris, India won a medal in this category for the fourth consecutive Paralympics.

This included a third consecutive double podium finish in the event.

Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thanagavelu repeated their heroics from the Tokyo Paralympics and made another double Podium finish in Paris.

However, they both swapped their position from the last time as Sharad won a silver medal this time while Mariyappan had to settle for a bronze medal.

Ajeet Singh-Sundar Singh Gurjar (Silver-Bronze - Para-Athletics)

India clinched their second consecutive double podium finish in the men's Javelin throw F46 category of Para-athletics in Paris.

Sundar who was part of this feat on both occasions, won his second consecutive bronze medal in this category in Paris, finishing behind his compatriot Ajeet Singh, who clinched a silver medal.

This was the third double podium finish for India in Para-athletics in Paris, showcasing the dominance of the country across various events of this sport.

Thulasimathi Murugesan-Manisha Ramadass (Silver-Bronze - Para-badminton)

An Indian female para-shuttler had never won a medal at the Paralympic Games, but in Paris, they scripted history by adding three medals to their tally for the first time.

This also included a double podium finish in the women's singles SU5 category where Manisha Ramadass became the first Indian female para-shuttler to medal at the Paralympics, after winning a bronze medal.

Minutes later, Thulasimathi Murugesan added another one to the tally, winning a silver medal in the same category.

This resulted in a double-podium finish for India in Para-badminton for the second time ever.
