AIFF Player Status Committee clears Anwar Ali’s transfer to East Bengal FC
Anwar Ali is now officially an East Bengal player after the Player Status Committee granted him an NOC following a Delhi High Court-ordered rehearing.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) Player Status Committee (PSC) has officially granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Anwar Ali, making him an East Bengal FC player, on Thursday.
The decision follows the Delhi High Court's earlier order to conduct a rehearing of the case.
“The player’s subsequent conduct of signing with East Bengal FC be given effect to pursuant to Article 9.5, and the CRS be updated by treating this order as the requisite release letter/NOC," the PSC's stated.
The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for September 30.
Earlier this week, the Delhi High Court had set aside the previous proceedings of the PSC regarding Anwar Ali’s transfer.
It had also nullified the earlier NOC that had allowed Anwar Ali’s move to East Bengal.
This ruling came after AIFF's legal representatives admitted that the grounds for the verdict had not been written, raising concerns from the court.
Previously, on September 10, the PSC had handed Anwar Ali a four-month suspension and imposed a fine of ₹12.9 crore, to be paid collectively by Anwar Ali, East Bengal FC, and Delhi FC to Mohun Bagan SG.
This action stemmed from what the committee deemed as the 'illegal termination' of Anwar Ali's loan deal with Mohun Bagan after just one year of a four-year agreement.
The PSC had also issued a two-window transfer ban on both East Bengal and Delhi FC.
In response, Anwar Ali moved the Delhi High Court, seeking to overturn the PSC's suspension.
East Bengal is set to face Kerala Blasters in Kochi on September 22nd and Anwar Ali can represent the red and gold brigade after a long legal battle.
