An exciting cricket season awaits fans as the Indian cricket team departs for England to play several exciting encounters starting with the first-ever World Test Championship final against New Zealand. While all eyes will be on the final, which will get underway on June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. More than a month after the final, India and England will lock horns in a five-match bilateral Test series starting from August 4 in Nottingham before the caravan moves to other parts of the country.

India have won consecutive series in Australia that has put this side in a position like no other in the history of Indian cricket. However, winning in England is still a task unaccomplished by this unit. The BCCI has selected a well-balanced team with a good mix of seasoned and upcoming stars for the upcoming tour in England. TradeStars picks three of those upcoming stars who could play out as valuable assets for the side in the long Test tour:

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill has been reckoned as one of the reliable openers for the Indian team in the test format going by his performances in Australia and against England at home. Gill emerged as a promising test match batsman after his debut in Australia last year and gave India the right start picking up the opening slot with Rohit Sharma. During the three Tests he played against Australia, Gill scored two crucial knocks of 50 and 91. His performances earned him a place for the test matches against England. Against the English side, the right-handed batsman managed to hit a half-century. In seven Test matches played so far, Shubman Gill has scored 378 runs. Like the last two tours, India will look up to Gill to gain an advantage at the top of the order for the World Test Championship Final, followed by the bilateral series against England.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj

Like Gill, Mohammed Siraj made his debut against Australia and showed his mettle in the series where he picked 13 wickets in three games, including a fifer in his first test. Siraj's flair could be seen through the bouncers and yorkers he bowled to dominate the Aussie side. He was later picked up for England series. In a spin-dominating condition, Siraj managed to pick up three wickets in the two games he played. With conditions suitable for seamers in England, India plans to invest in Siraj which is sure to add value to the test side.

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar made his Test debut during the Test series against Australia. In the 4th Test between India and Australia, he scored a crucial 62 run inning. Later, Sundar also played against England in three Test matches and scored two important knocks of unbeaten 85 and 96 runs - which has further increased his market value. Since England pitches are more pacer-friendly, India can increase their batting depth by including two all-round spinning options in their playing XI. Washington Sundar provides a Right-arm off-break spinning option contrasting to Jadeja's left-arm orthodox. He can also bat like a top-order batter in Tests, credit to his well-balanced batting technique, proving to be a valuable asset in India's XI for the WTC final in both departments.

With the three players showcasing some stellar performances in the previous matches, it is expected they will find themselves among the regulars in the WTC Final and England tour. It is also expected that these three will have higher market value among the fantasy leagues, where fans will be taking them in their fantasy squad.
