According to reports in various portals, the Indian origin referee, Suyash Mehta is all set to officiate in the upcoming season of National Basketball Association (NBA).

If the reports are to be believed, Mehta will become the first ever Indian origin referee to officiate in the prestigious NBA. More details regarding the same are awaited.

Mehta has been working with the NBA for the past five years. He had officiated at the NBA Summer League in 2015 and has also worked closely with the NBA-G league.

The NBA 2020-21 season which has been reduced to 72 games due to the coronavirus pandemic is scheduled to begin from 23nd December 2020 with the first match between Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets at 5:30am IST. The first day will also see the Los Angeles based sides Lakers and Clippers taking on each other at 8:30am IST.
